Zac Easterling

Zac (They/Them) is a PhD candidate in the department of performance studies at NYU. Their dissertation Stricken Together: Boxing, Black Study, and Conflict applies black studies to the site of the western boxing tradition in order to redeem conflict as a generative mode of being-together, by contributing a nuanced reading which highlights the analytic distinction between conflict and violence. As a coach their style merges the practical and technical elements of boxing (conditioning and form) with the theoretical and historical.
